He advises leading museums, foundations, private collections and corporations on art collection, growth of the collection, new program development and public relations in New York, Washington D.C., Beijing and Shanghai. He had the experience in working with wealth investment banks to assist private and institutional art collectors nationwide and internationally. After receiving his BA with a dual major in Art History and Political Science and a Master’s Degree/Masters of Business Administration from George Mason University, Henri gained knowledge that have shown a strength in American and Chinese contemporary art through working with museums and galleries in both the United States and China. He has been consistently engaged in directing production of exhibitions and public programs for museums, galleries and cities, including Art Museum of the Americas , the Cooper Hewitt , National Arts Club of New York , Dallas Museum of Art , Ullens Center for Contemporary Art , Shanghai Gallery of Art . He also partnered with leading art fairs to present curated sections of emerging artists and provide integrated multicultural marketing and audience engagement efforts, such as Beijing Design Week , Design Miami and Art Asia Miami. In the past six years, he has been working with collectors to organize auctions to feature emerging and mid-career artists and designers, and the auctions had been successfully convened with Sotheby’s New York/London, Heritage Auction and Poly International Auction. He also maintains close working relationship with Paddle8 to organize charity auctions for art organizations and non-profits. The designers of his curated design show – Design@+ – were later nominated and earned awards at international contests such as Habitare Helsinki, Red Dot Design Award, etc. Henri has a keen interest to promote development of the contemporary art scenes in the United States and China by providing support for emerging artists and curators and taking them to the international stage. With the passion to cultivate the base of young collectors, he was actively involved in the young patron groups such as 1869 Society at Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Contemporaries at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C. Three years ago, he successfully secured corporate sponsorships to establish the Lab on Art to educate, inspire, and curate art market experiences and educational events for individuals interested in developing art collections. As a global community of emerging philanthropists and art collectors, the Lab also facilitated local and global conversations among leaders in the fields of art to educate would-be collectors and donors about pressing contemporary issues affecting art community. He directed meaningful partnership and corporate sponsorship to support Louise Blouin Foundation and New York Foundation for the Arts . Additionally, he served as the Board member of Chashama Benefit Committee for its annual Gala, the leading organization supports art community in New York city by transforming and converting vacant properties into exhibition and studio spaces for artists. His government relations background also allowed him to advocate on behalf of galleries and museums regarding public policy issues and regulations applicable to their businesses (e.g. tax matters, federal funding, international trade policies). He continues the engagement with National Endowment for the Arts, Americans for the Arts and local art commissions to understand policy nuances and prioritize their cultural agenda. He is now leading a consulting group that focuses on several newly built museums in major cities across Asia. As most of these museums are privately-funded, he is responsible for creating exhibition plan, art inventory growth and strategic partnership development.      Henri is specialized in: American and Chinese post-war and contemporary art; Curatorial projects and multicultural marketing; Private museums, collections and corporate art; Fine art investment and collecting; Young collectors and connoisseurship; Art management and advocacy for art organizations (institutions, non-profits)

Henri Yuan | H. Y. Crossover Consulting Henri Yuan is an art consultant, curator, cultural producer and communication strategist.
